Yes, Ahmedabad has direct flights to most major Indian cities. You can fly to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow and many more. The airport handles a high volume of domestic traffic daily.
For domestic flights, arrive at least two hours before departure. For international flights, allow three hours. The airport can get busy during peak hours and festival seasons. Check with your airline for their specific check-in time requirements.
The Ahmedabad Metro does not directly serve the airport. You can take a taxi, auto-rickshaw or app-based cab from anywhere in the city. The airport is about 9-10 km north-east of the city centre. BRTS buses also connect nearby areas.
The airport has lounges, duty-free shops, restaurants, currency exchange counters and ATMs. Free Wi-Fi is available for a limited time. There are also prayer rooms and baby care facilities. Both domestic and international terminals offer these services.
Indian passport holders need a visa for most international destinations from Ahmedabad. For foreign travellers arriving in Ahmedabad, an Indian visa is required. Check visa requirements for your specific destination country well before your travel date.
